Our Commitments

Policies

Occupational Health and Safety Policy

We believe that a healthy and safe workplace is the right and responsibility of every worker. Our policy sets out the standards we uphold to protect every member of our workforce.

Anti-Corruption & Anti-Competitive Practices

Chevron Tankers commits to conducting its business with integrity and transparency. We have a zero-tolerance policy for bribery and corruption, dedicated to ethical, fair, and vigorous competition in line with our Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.

Environmental Policy

We are committed to protecting the environment, reducing waste, decarbonizing logistics, and making a positive contribution to biodiversity across every ocean we sail.

Supplier Code of Conduct

Our Supplier Code of Conduct outlines our commitment to ethical, safe, and sustainable practices. It sets standards for business integrity, health and safety, environmental responsibility, and fair labour. All suppliers are expected to comply with these principles and applicable laws.

People Development

Education

We develop the nautical leaders of tomorrow through a number of education and training programmes designed to equip the next generation with the skills our industry demands.

Students from King Abdulaziz University enrolled in the Faculty of Marine Sciences receive practical experience onboard Chevron Tankers vessels as part of an ongoing agreement with the university — building real-world maritime skills alongside academic study.
This agreement supports young talent by equipping them with specialised skills and training in maritime transport, reinforcing Chevron Tankers' strategic commitment to developing national talent and advancing human capital in alignment with the objectives of Vision 2030.
Our Graduate Development Programme targets graduates and offers a fast-track 10-month programme during which a trainee is placed in one of Chevron Tankers' business or function units. Throughout the programme, trainees develop knowledge and skills in their chosen area of expertise across commercial shipping, logistics and operations.
This programme offers undergraduate students 3–6 months of practical training, giving them hands-on experience in a working maritime environment. Students gain exposure to real commercial operations, safety management, and logistics — preparing them for careers in the shipping industry.
Technology

Sustainable Fleet Management

Chevron Tankers' vessels are world-leading because we dedicate ourselves to pioneering efficient, clean and environmentally-friendly engine and hull technologies across our entire fleet.

Reducing Carbon Footprint

Our modern VLCCs burn 40% less fuel than their predecessors, reducing emissions and positively impacting our carbon footprint across millions of voyage miles.

Advanced Hull Coatings

Special coatings including Seaquantum X200, Intersleek 1100SR and Intersleek 757 ensure maximum hull efficiency and are environmentally responsible.

Tank Coatings

Internal tank coatings such as Interline 9001 and Marine Line 784 maximise flexibility and allow easy cleaning, maintenance and cargo changeover.

Operating Efficiency

New design elements including Becker Mewis Ducts and Boss Coupling System have increased operating efficiency by 3% and 4.5% on many of our ships.

Reducing Emissions

Marine Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) systems reduce NOx emissions, while clean fuel and scrubbing technologies enable us to meet IMO 2020 SO₂ 0.5% emission rules.

Meeting Stringent Standards

Chevron Tankers meets all thirteen key standards of the OCIMF2 TMSA 33 as well as the US Coast Guard's exclusive QUALSHIP 21 status.

Operational Excellence

Safety

As a safe and responsible company, Chevron Tankers ensures its management and affiliates recognise their responsibility to uphold the highest standards of safety across all areas of the business. We are acutely conscious of our duty to protect our workforce, crew, vessels, client assets, the environment, and our communities.

1
Protecting People and Assets

Staff receive regular safety training, all vessels operate under international safety standards, and client assets are insured via a recognised international insurance firm.

2
Protecting Nature
We promote the best environmental practices across the company by:
  • Complying with the latest international regulations relating to marine pollution
  • Using effective ballast water management practices to prevent seawater contamination
  • Using modern fuel-saving technologies in all vessels
  • Using advanced coatings on all vessels to further reduce fuel consumption
  • Always implementing precautionary measures across every voyage
3
Stop Work Authority

Our crews are encouraged to use the seafarer "Stop Work" authority if they see an unsafe act — regardless of rank. No cargo, schedule, or commercial consideration overrides the right and duty to stop unsafe operations.
